A Thyme of Thanksgiving

At this wonderful time of Thanksgiving, it’s good to check your pantry and make sure you have all the seasonings you need to spice up these special days together with family and friends.

There are so many special herbs and spices that remind me of the Thanksgiving holiday.

When I think of the cinnamon and ginger in the pumpkin pie, and the salt, pepper and garlic necessary to make a great turkey gravy, and the rosemary you might put in the roasted potatoes.

So many great flavorings, like nutmeg, peppermint, clove, oregano, basil, cardamom, cumin, and bay leaf.

But, my all time favorite spice is TIME.

TIME to start fresh with a new resolve.
TIME to let go of the past and its hurts and pain.
TIME to believe that people can change.
TIME to slow down, to find rest, and be still for awhile.
TIME to dream and to make some plans.
TIME to look ahead and set some goals.
TIME to forgive and be forgiven, life is too short for long memories of hurts.
TIME to think more about others than myself.
TIME to be thankful.
TIME to discover the JOY of the season.
